As part of the International Year of Cooperatives, les Éditions Vie Économique (EVE) has just posted its latest issue of Revue vie économique online. Under the theme Le capitalisme en crise, quelle réponse des coopératives? (Capitalism in crisis: how are cooperatives responding?), the magazine explores the changes the cooperative movement is currently experiencing: the trend towards internationalization, the new critical distance vis-à-vis capitalism, the question of cooperatives' political neutrality and the “greening”of certain networks thanks to Rio+20.
A dozen researchers and cooperative stakeholders from Quebec and the European Union explore the issues faced by modern societies and the solutions the cooperative movement provides. The magazine also presents a large number of analytical articles on the cooperative reality – not only in Quebec, but also internationally, including in France and Italy.
Jean-Pierre Girard, who will be presiding over the book launch activities at the International Summit of Cooperatives, contributed an article to this issue of the magazine, Coopératives de santé au Québec : entre l'espoir et le doute (Health cooperatives in Quebec: between hope and doubt).
